11pm-7am, Monday through Friday The Data Center Support Technician performs maintenance of file servers, application servers, database servers and network devices.
The role consists of providing onsite support for remote data center management teams.
Requires 3-5 years' of related work experience, or Associates (AA) degree, or technical training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must possess A
certification.
The Data Center Support Technician has experience in the following:
Windows servers SUN, HP, and/or Dell server / storage hardware Hardware remediation (Hard Drives, Processor, Memory, System Boards) Legato backup Systems Linux Red Hat Hardware:
SunFire and HP Proliant Enterprise Server Lines, Cisco Enterprise Routers (7200, 7600 series) and Switches (6500 class) Cisco network hardware Server racking, Patch Cabling, Familiarity with SAN (EMC, Cisco) Microsoft Office applications Specific duties consist of:
Physical replacing of network cabling (network, SAN) Physical Reboot of UNIX and Windows servers Physical reboots and cable changes for network devices such as routers and switches Physical reboot of AS / 400 devices Login to devices mentioned above to perform other troubleshooting - only performed with the guidance of authorized support personnel Media management:
loading and unloading backup tapes by running maintenance commands; prepping them for offsite delivery to DR site Server Provisioning & Retirement (SP&R) - physical installation of new servers into the environment, including cabling and physical racking, but not installation of OS Vendor Escort - required to provide escort to 3rd party vendors' onsite, track visits via log Inventory Management, Shipping / Receiving, and Asset Management DC Facilities
