Platform Manager- KNBC

Platform Managers are responsible for the overall editorial content for one or more of the content platforms/shows produced by NBC LA, including but not limited to broadcast, digital and web
Works with content producers to select the most compelling and relevant stories
Works with the production team to ensure smooth and seamless show productions as well as with the editorial team to ensure the most complete local news coverage
Plays an active role in the editorial process and advocates for their particular platform
Responsible for writing, producing, desktop editing and gathering content for all platforms
Responsible for effectively managing a pool of content producers, coaching and mentoring as needed
Minimum 5 years experience in newsgathering and/or production
Minimum 3 years experience writing and producing
Significant experience as a news producer in a top 20 market
Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Communications or equivalent work experience

Must have a flexible schedule with ability to work any of a 24x7 shift and willingness to travel and work long hours and on weekends with short notice
Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
Desired Characteristics
Experience in multi-platform news environment preferred
Knowledge and understanding of various media platforms, including broadcast, web and mobile
Significant experience in the news environment and strong journalistic skills
Experience in desktop editing preferred
Ability to write, edit and produce under heavy deadline pressure without compromising accuracy or credibility
Creatively deliver news as it develops on all current and future platforms
A pioneering spirit with desire learn emerging technologies and invent the future
Believes that teams are smarter and more dynamic together
Passionately develops and presents story ideas
Invested and engaged in the local community and authentically understands and represents local viewer interest

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
