Director, Analytics Center of Excellence

Responsibilities
NBCUniversal is looking for a results-driven Director to join our Analytics Center of Excellence (ACOE). Analytics is a strategic initiative across our Company with backing from all levels of executive leadership. The selected candidate will report directly to the VP, Analytics COE and is responsible leading data and analytics solutions for defined business groups. This position requires an experienced analytics professional with exceptional business acumen and technical knowledge, particularly experienced in data solution development, and an ability to operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Build relationships, listen, develop empathy, and setup ongoing operating mechanisms with business users and vertical technology leaders to understand their needs, prioritize demand and execute on strategic initiatives
Recruit and manage a team of analytics-focused project managers, data engineers and visualization specialists to lead the next generation of solutions to enable insights and new data capabilities
Partner with horizontal-service leads and platform teams to build new products and solutions that align with the strategic goals of the business
Leverage data and analytics as a catalyst to transform the organization building a foundation for future endeavors and partnerships
Evaluate future initiatives with how they align with overall ACOE strategy
Partner with business analysts and data scientists to drive a standard approach for operational support after discovery, insight derivation or project completion
Embed analytics capabilities and advocate for business value through new platforms, products and solutions
Qualifications/Requirements
7+ years of progressive experience in solution development and building data/analytics products
5+ years of experience in a business-facing analytical role and proven track record of related success
5+ years of experience with advanced data technologies, data modeling, data solutions
5+ years of experience as a lead product manager, managing multiple products and priorities
3+ years of experience managing a team of people managers
Desired Characteristics
Experience managing vendor and partner relationships and engaging with new vendors and partners to continuously introduce new and relevant technologies
Strong understanding of Agile principles and best practices including Scrum, Kanban, XP, etc.
Ability to quickly understand which data is used by which business processes and what the data means in the context of these specific processes, especially ratings and consumer engagement
Strong working knowledge of media including broadcast TV, digital, and mobile with demonstrated business acumen and the ability to apply technology solutions to solve business problems
Ability to assess disparate technologies, data sources and business processes and clearly communicate them to executives and execution team
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional business and technical teams
Experience in delivering self-service analytics solutions that promote data discovery
Ability to speak and present to high-level executives on status of products as well as get in the weeds with product owners and development team driving day-to-day execution
Excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization, with strong teamwork, interpersonal and influencing skills
The ability to quickly build rapport and gain the respect and cooperation of both technology and business leaders, while being incessantly customer-focused
Leadership style focused on being a "player-coach" who inspires and motivates high levels of performance, as well as creating a collaborative team environment in which team members are empowered to think critically and speak openly on products they are working on
Be able to deal with ambiguity and make quality decisions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

Bachelor's degree plus relevant analytics experience



Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
