HR Manager, Legal


Role Summary:
Dynamic and exciting opportunity to provide human resources support for the Corporate Legal organization of NBCUniversal. The Human Resources Manager will provide broad HR support to the LA based Corporate Legal division. S/he will have responsibility for directly supporting Executive level clients, providing strategic input into organization design, managing employee relations issues, ensuring a robust talent pipeline, leading the performance management process, compensation planning, succession planning and all other HR initiatives for this population. This role will also be expected to partner closely with her/his HR counterparts for the business Legal teams on the west coast and internationally to ensure implementation of corporate initiatives. This role will report directly into the Vice President, Legal & Human Resources.

  • Serve as an HR contact for and partner with business HR Managers on all matters regarding the legal function across businesses at NBCUniversal both domestically and internationally in areas that include compensation and title equity, talent reviews and succession planning, staffing/recruitment, and talent movement
  • Provide guidance and support to the LA based HR Generalist and HR Coordinator supporting the legal function
  • Collaborate with various business leaders to design and implement employee development programs
  • Partner closely with the functional leaders to manage strategic initiatives for legal, including: employee engagement, retention, compensation/title analyses, employee relations matters, and organizational structuring, career development & diversity programs
  • Manage all day-to-day HR responsibilities, including: salary/bonus planning, staffing, off-boarding, performance management, reporting/analytics, etc.
  • Provide HR counsel to Executives and their teams on employee relations issues, ensuring fair and consistent enforcement of policies and practices
  • Act as liaison between clients and core staff functions by assisting with rolling out new company/HR initiatives and communicating information relating to career development, recognition programs, payroll, benefits, training and staffing
  • Mentor and provide guidance to professional staff related to their career goals. Build bench strength within the legal function by identifying training and development opportunities for talent throughout NBCUniversal


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Management or related field required
  • Up to 5 years working within the HR function (3 years as a generalist is desirable), or a combination of education and other relevant experience

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
